OCI recommendation for a 2003 Accord V6

Hi, I am servicing my neighbor's 03 Accord 3.0 V6 and am wondering what OCI I should using for the reminder sticker.

The car is mechanically in fine shape, and has 59k miles on it. I'm not entirely sure of his driving habits, but I believe them to be 60-70% city and the remainder highway. He lives in the city but makes trips out to the country home (next to me) periodically, so it will see some 30 mile trips. He also drives conservatively.

He is an environmentally conscientious person and wishes to extend his OCIs out past the typical 3k/3mo to help avoid unnecessary waste if possible. I plan on using Pennzoil Conventional 5w20 and a Wix filter for 5k miles. Does this sound like a good plan?

He sound like a perfect candidate for Mobil 1 Extended Performance or Amsoil.
Use caution stretching it out past 10K without a used oil analysis with TBN.

Sounds perfect to me. I stick to 5k mile intervals on our Honda V-6 engine as well. Ours sees quite a lot of short-tripping, and 5k miles with a good synthetic oil (M1 or Pennzoil Platinum 0w20) seems to be a good plan. He could probably do 7,500 miles on 0W-20, especially in Iowa winters.

I am driving a 2001 TL, using Castrol Edge w/Titanium or Pennzoil Platinum and the higher end Fram Filter (which I happen to believe are excellent products - as are WIX filters).

I have tested my way into a 10,000 mile OCI, but thing that 7,500 should be no problem at all for this car even on dino and with out analysis. Blackstone says I could go a little longer, but I'm chicken.

Your plan is great, but in my experience, these Honda V-6 engines really sing on synthetic or at least a blend, plus you get the longer OCI and potentially easier starts on cold Iowa winter days.

Honda uses CP oil. You can get 5W-20 Motorcraft or Kendal which is basically the same syn-blend and do 5K OCI.

Thank you for your input guys.

Please forgive me, I was in a rush this morning so I need to add some info...

While I'd like to make the switch to a syn of some sort and move out farther on the OCI, he may be getting rid of the car in the next few months so he may never get the return on investment. I should have stated that in the title but, like I said, I was rushed.

I should have asked how far I could go on Pennzoil conventional under the above listed conditions...
