I changed to driveline fluids in my '08 Ram 4.7 4wd 6spd over to redline at around 10k miles. Currently have C+ ATF (Redline's D4 ATF) in the manual transmission & transfer case, 75w140 in the rear open differential, and 75w90 in the front diff.

How long can I run these fluids before having to change? Truck is currently at 58k, and I was planning to change driveline oils at 100k. That would make a 90k OCI...too long or not?

Too long.

30k for is what I recommend for all gear boxes.

50k is a limit for the highway only driver, or if the vehicle is never worked.

i agree, 30K is the time to dump them- even though a top quality fluid like Redline may still be in excellent condition, it still gets contaminated with wear metals from the moving gears in both the transmission and differential.....kind of a false economy to spend top dollar for a great fluid to minimize wear, then run it too long

Really? Only 30k? That's the interval I would use with Redline in my older BMW, which saw lots of high-RPM canyon carving and a few trips to the track.

I'm already nearing 50k on all the driveline fluids, and I assumed I could go AT LEAST 60k on Redline. Can't find my owners' manual, so don't know what the factory recommendations are at the moment. Redline isn't worth the cost to me if I can only use it for 30k...my truck runs 40-50k miles per year.

Is this due to wear metals/clutch material in the fluid?

Would you recommend the same interval with good aftermarket filtration?

I had planned on running my ATD to 100,000 miles and replace the magnefine filters at 30K intervals.

Everything depends on the driver and vehicle.

UOA it for proof. Thats it. You'll come to your own conclusions. I make my opinions based on experience.

I haven't seen an automobile or light truck role out with surplus quality engineering.

I've seen too many preventable failures. PM, preventive maintenance, goes a long way here.
