OCI for friend's 2007 Ford Explorer 6 cyl

A friend has a 2007 Ford Explorer with a 6 cyl engine. He is a salesman so the car gets a good many highway miles. He currently runs Mobil 1 5W30 and asked today if he is ok with a 10K oci. I told him I knew of no sludge problems or such that would preclude this oci on that vehicle but promised to check with forum. Also he's been having the oil changes at the Ford dealer who obviously uses a MC filter. Will that filter go 10K?

Yup...oil and filter will do 10k easy.

10K OK....with Mobil 1 5w30 (Check with tig)

Regarding filter....I would bring another filter to the dealership, such as an Mobil 1 or Bosch Distance Plus....just to be safe. The MC filter is OK, but IMO is not for long OCI's.

I use the MC filters in my Duratech 4s and they appear to fine after a 10K OCI.

Thanks for all of the replies. I suspected he would be fine but wanted to make sure that there were no issues with that engine.
