O2 sensor adapter with "mini catalytic converter"

I have the P0420 code on two vehicles and don't need to pass emissions. I have seen these things on Amazon:

This makes me wonder if there is something wrong about the traditional O2 anti-fowler mod. I would think the O2 sensor will run cooler or something will be different that will affect the AFR measurement when using an anti-fowler. Like the sensor running cooler or the exhaust gases doing something weird inside the anti-fowler cavity.

Has anyone tried these, or has anyone had MPG decrease when using the traditional anti-fowler mod?

I've also seen one with multiple restrictors instead of an element, but haven't come across anyone actually mentioning they needed to use one or the other restrictor, or how to choose the restrictor.

EDIT: some cars will disable Vtec or something like that if there is an engine light, and it also hides any other trouble codes when the light is constantly on. So I do want to get something.

The traditional anti-fouler already works quite well.

If Johnny Law looks under your car it looks like an "adapter".

These things look whiz-bang.

If the inspector sees the anti fowler they are supposed to reject the car. I have heard you can tip the inspector to have bad vision.

Yep. Where I live the inspector actually looks for these. I've seen them do this. They also look at the exhaust system under the rear of the vehicle but I don't know what they are looking for.
