NYC taxis-Toyotas

OK,Ford Crown Vics are still the kings of NYC taxi fleets but Toyota Siennas are making a move.
I see more and more of them on NYC streets the few times a month I get to the city.

Last time I visited (98) the Isuzu Oasis/ 1st gen honda oddessy were popular cabs.

Some people, probably tourists, expect the drama of hailing a "classic" RWD sedan and the minivans probably disappoint them. But practicality seems to be working for the fleet owners.

In Fredericksburg, VA the local cab company has at least one 91-95 Ford Escort in their fleet. (As far as the type of service these taxis get...I'll put the congestion on VA3 up against *ANYTHING* NYC has to offer..)

I've seen a few Hybrid Ford escapes surface inrecent months...also see a few Toyota and Honda mini vans
