Now OK to Blind Other Drivers?

Yeah true that happens a lot. Usually accident cars which makes the lights jiggly too, or rice boys and their poorly fitted, horribly misaligned snow plow body kits and completely unapproved 'aftermarket' ebay headlights. At least they're usually on lowered cars and not right at eye level, ugh!

I would have to say that this is my biggest beef with law enforcement, if it is not speeding or something flagrant like running a red light it seems like law enforcement has no interest in stopping it. My peeve is the opposite to the OP, those who do not turn on their lights in low visibility conditions.

Guess who made ford stick the headlight down lower? IIRC specs have tightened a little over the last couple years.

Same here, although many people I've noticed just seem to ignore my high-beam flashes. They keep on driving toward me with their high-beams on as if they haven't noticed my warnings. Sigh...

I haven't done it for a long time, but I'd give two flashes than just leave them on.

It's NOT just the inconsiderate young ricetards, or the Bigfoot/Squidbilly imitators around here that are the problem.

The over-privileged, self-important, "rich female dogs" in their big buck 'rolling fur coats' (status symbol ONLY, Mercs, Bimmers, Lexi, etc. driving with their factory H.I.D.s on high beam 100% of the time!) seem to feel it is beneath them to make the minuscule effort to flick the high beam stalk once to not blind and crash us lowly plebeians (although they probably do not even make the effort for their fellow 'blue-bloods' either

Believe it or not, in some ghetto areas being courteous and flashing someone driving around at night with NO lights on at all, can get you DEAD!!

It is a gang initiation in certain places to drive with NO lights on what so ever, until someone flashes them to kindly tell/remind them to turn on their lights, then they go after the good citizens and shoot to kill, kids inside and all.

This is NOT 'urban legend', as there have been documented cases, and confirmation by gang members.

And then they wonder WHY there are 'haterz'?!

Thats an amazing comparison!

It's not too bad around here. The very occasional ricer with blue HID. More common are the people who don't flip off their high beams. That's common enough where I almost want to get HIR1 high beam bulbs to flash these folks with. Hard to ignore 4600 lumens of light.

Note: I recently aimed my low beams, and the car has a self-leveling suspension for loads.

I remember not that long ago when I was pulled over for driving with my fog lights on.

Now, like the rest of our country, it's the law of the jungle and every one is out for himself.

I think there's something pathological about someone who drives one of these lifted trucks and gets their jollies by blinding everyone else. How deformed must one's genitalia be to go out of one's way to create a vehicle that just doesn't belong on a public road?

I notice that around here some, and it appears as if most of it is caused by people simply not getting their replacement bulbs clipped in correctly on some of the more annoying designs, where there is barely any room to fit your hand to work with the clip. If I see their headlight bouncing around a little, I know that has happened and I don't even try to give them a quick flash of the high beams.

But most of the time, it is just someone who is completely inconsiderate and doesn't think of anyone but themselves. The same kind of people who never signal a turn, cut others off, drive down the middle of the road because they are too busy texting, etc.

And it also seems like many people forget that low beams are supposed to be aimed so that they don't shine at other drivers and don't light up the world... that's what high beams are for. Cars have low/dipped beams and separate high beams for a reason.

And I agree that the police should spend more time enforcing actual threats such as blinding other drivers rather than worrying about someone going a little over the speed limit on a open road... with no traffic... at 1:00 AM.

I have flashed the high beams at a few people in the past. It never worked, so I just figured that anyone dumb enough to drive without lights won't understand why I flashed them. Needless to day, I haven't tried it again... and I'm glad now that I've heard about this.

Add misaligned daytime running lights that too bright at 50% of high beams.

Lights during the day are visual noise. Annoying and confusing. Who can't see a 4000 lb car? Glare is not safe.

All cars should have the same indicators.

Lights during the day = focus on the lights not the motion of the car = train in the tunnel effect.

i dim my rearview mirror with these selfish zealots behind me.

the xenons are ridiculous.

Grrr I hate this. It will be almost completely dark out, and there will be some moron running without his lights on. A lot of the roads around here are not lit, so seeing them behind or in front of me can be a challenge. It really ticks me off.

I disagree. Everyone should run with their headlights on at all times. My mom had terrible cataracts last year, they onset within a month (due to all the steroids for her asthma over the years) and she had a heck of a time driving. Eventually we had to tell her she can't drive until she got them fixed. She said cars that had headlights on were MUCH easier to see than those without. They don't cause glare, they don't cause any inconvenience besides flipping a switch on, and off later. Whether or not they should be driving is not the point, we have to accept that they will, and there is no reason not to run headlights all the time.

My headlights come on automatically when the car is started. I think its a plus as when visibility is good, I don't notice day time runners. When visibility is bad, which here it often is (between the rain and fog), they're a great asset for seeing other cars easier - particularly silver ones as they are almost invisible in that type of weather.

Or breastfeeding with their high beams on.
Sorry, I tried to stop myself, to no avail.

Refusing to turn off your high beams is actually a ticketable offense...
