Yesterday I met up with a friend for coffee (well, actually cold icy drinks given our present heatwave) and cycled back to his house with him before heading home.

He mentioned that the movie "November 1963" was being filmed in his neighbourhood, and to watch for it as I headed home.

Sure enough, there were a number of streets blocked off, and various period-correct cars - a '62 Chevy Biscayne or Bel Air, an early-'60s Comet, a '62 Cadillac, a c. '54 Chev, and so on. There was a compact Ford, probably a Falcon, in police black and white with a Texas plate.

I took a photo of the police car, but a member of the film crew said no photos were allowed. I said I'd delete it, and did.

Anyway, it was interesting to see pleasant Norwood Flats being used to represent Dallas almost 62 years ago.

Internet research confirms that the movie will be about the JFK assassination.

Wow. I hadn’t heard about this movie but it sounds interesting. I’ll be looking forward to its release. Super cool they are doing it near you and your friends area.

Was it LBJ? The Mob? Commies? FBI inside?
Per the 'net, this movie will be "the true story", and says the Mafia was responsible.

James Lifton's book "Best Evidence" was about a government cover-up.

Jim Garrison's book "On The Trail Of The Assassin's" dovetailed with Lifton's, looking more at the legal side of the alleged government conspiracy. (I haven't seen it, but apparently Oliver Stone's movie JFK was based on Garrison's book.)

Gerald Posner's book "Case Closed" agreed with the Warren Commission - "Oswald Acted Alone".

There have been compelling arguments made blaming Castro, the "military-industrial complex", the Mafia, LBJ, and on and on. I don't know if we'll ever know for sure.

A Lincoln convertible never was a smart move - especially since he gave away this one:

Case Closed and the Warren Commission report are the best sources for legitimate info.

There Ain't no "Second Shooter".
It's a novel, and the 2nd shooter is a plot device. The book does not contradict any of the evidence presented to the Warren Commission.

It's a good read, but perhaps nothing more than that.

I live in Dallas.
If you see the movie, I'd be interested to know whether you think they captured what Dallas would have looked like back then.

Has Dallas, like most cities, since lost its elm trees? We still have many thousands. I wonder whether that's why they close to film here.

Considering that JFK attempted to have Castro assassinated, I'm open to the idea that Castro reciprocated. But I've always been very skeptical of any of the evidence that suggests anything other than Oswald acting alone. It all seems pretty conspiracy theory type of stuff.

Watch the movie I mentioned above. Pretty sure you'll see it differently.
There's only 1 shooter. 2 wounds of entrance, both from behind the President, on a direct line from Oswald's 6th floor sniper window. 2 witnesses saw Oswald and his aimed rifle in the window. 3 coworkers on the 5th floor below Oswald hear the shots being fired above them, hear the bolt operating and the ejected casings hitting the ceiling overhead.
