Not good news - John Force

Just more emotional feelings it's out of his hands
Personally, I think it's time he retires. I thought that 5+ years ago but he's still winning races at 75. Who would have thought? The guy is quite the human specimen.

Since there seems to be a whiff of hostility regarding why he retires - let's clarify. Does he retire because his medical team tells him HE MUST? Or does he retire because he's finally HAD ENOUGH?

If he retires because of his medical team (or the NHRA), then it is out of his hands. If he decides to retire because of his own decision, or a decision made in part with his family, that's not out of his hands.

I don't have a dog in this fight but let's remember that distinction when the time comes. I'm just happy that a motorsport icon of his stature didn't perish.

I agree ^^^^^

By the way this is where Jerry Nadeau of NASCAR had a BAD, BAD wreck at Richmond…,

I wasn’t even trained in what I do now but I remember seeing them using a Ambu bag on him while they were getting him out of the car. I knew he was not breathing well and that was not acgoood sign…. He was at VCU Medical and was luckily to be alive….

He never drove again in NASCAR.,Due to neurological damage done.

I believe John is progressing in a positive direction based upon 02SE inside information.

It’s one day at a time… But I’m very very glad to hear his positive progress to this point.

The plan is to announce a stand-in driver after the Sonoma Nationals. John continues to recover and improve at the facility where other racing drivers have had similar injuries successfully treated. He is also fully engaged in the process of deciding who will drive his car in the interim.

At this point he fully intends to come back and race again.

Some good news.
