Normally I wouldn't offer something like this but...

I'm looking at a virtual auction out of Haines City, Florida for most of the day when I was able to find a really nice older unit.

A 2001 Ford Crown Victoria LX with leather and only 51,000 miles.

It's the nicest and probably the most overmaintained Panther vehicle I have found in the last few years scouring through the wholesale dealer auctions. The transmission fluid was serviced three times. 23 service records in total, and the undercarriage looks to be in great shape.

The sale ends at 3 P.M. today. I think the price on this one will be around the high 6's. I'm only posting it here because every once in a blue moon I find an older unit that's a good match for the many folks who make up the BITOG audience.

I have more pics along with the ownership history. If you're interested feel free to PM me.

What a hoot!
As I believe I've alluded to in posts here, I just finished helping a pal clean his 2003 Same Car (in black with rough paint and 2.5X the mileage).
After he addresses a "konk out with easy restarts" condition (I suspect a clogged fuel filter or failing fuel pump) he wants to sell.
He just told me the local garage (trusted) changed the spark plugs and coils (?).
I can't get involved.

I think he should prep and rattle can the bubbled paint on the hood and roof and peddle it to car services in Newark/Elizabeth (NJ).
I've bet Mrs. Kira that the mechanic will come back with an offer....and I'm not saying that's a bad thing.

Judging by the headlights' clarity, the above example appears to have been garage kept.

Well it's official. I had a bit of a dogfight with a few other bidders but I got it.

If you want it hauled directly to where you live feel free to let me know. My transport costs are about a third of the average compared to an individual. The wholesale auto auctions transport millions of vehicles every year so it's probably cheaper than you think.

If anyone gets this, I have a bunch of old stock MOOG front end parts for one of these. My mom had a 2000 Grandma Keith and I bought everything to rebuild the steering but the car was totaled before they were installed. I will go through and see what all is there, but just send me the address and I will send them to you.

Congrats to you.
How much over 6 grand did you go?
What are your plans if it doesn't sell to a BITOGer?
It went higher than what I thought, but I held on for dear life and got the top bid.

I don't keep anything. Everything I have bought over the last 20+ years has been food on the table. The only thing I do keep are memories.

I'm probably going to set up transport early this week. If anyone wants the 25 or so images I have for the vehicle and the Carfax history just feel free to PM me.

Wife and I almost bought one years ago. We were getting rid of our big Cadillac and thought we wanted something more like that.

It seemed floaty on the test drive so we passed. Bought a Ford Taurus. Should have passed on that one too.

The Taurus is coming back

I agree on both counts. This Crown Vic has the Sport Suspension and that makes a huge difference in the way it drives. It's firm with no floatiness.
