Hi, I'm a journalist working on a story about non-petroleum engine oil. I've spoken to the folks at G-Oil. But I wonder if there are others out there I should also be talking to.. anybody have any experience with this type of oil? Or can anybody point me to other firms or industry people or experts I could talk to about this? thanks

I think Renewable Lubricants, Inc is another company that is using non-petroleum bases for their final product.

Did Green Earth Tech happen to mention how they are doing now that WalMart is not carrying their products anymore? That was the only brick & mortar store that one could find their oils in.

thanks, I'll try renewable lube
I guess we didn't talk about that. I was primarily interested in when and how they would come into the Canadian market. They are not here it, but working on it.

Did you look at their financial statements? G-Oil has been in the red for a long time...

Motul also uses non-petroleum base stocks in some of their oils, but they will NOT be very forthcoming with 'proprietary' tech/info, I'm afraid.

Well, G-Oil costs as much as M1 but no certifications beyond SM. No SN, No GF-5, No ACEA, no dexos, no information at all.

If the 5w30 was A5/B5, SN-RC, GF-5, and dexos1 (doesn't have to have an official license, the unofficial dexos like Castrol, RP, and Valvoline is fine)

G-Oil is API SN, ILSAC GF-5.

Really? That seems like a reasonable price for the G-oil. Now I'm interested!
