In Canada we call those Rockets, our Smarties up here are chocolate candies kind of like M&Ms:

These are our Rockets (your Smarties):

I came from a family that has cousins stuffing plastic beads into body orifices and need to go to the hospital to get them out.

Cousin 1: Stuff it into her nose and have to go to the emergency room to get it out.

Cousin 2: Her younger sister, stuff it into her ear and have to go to the emergency room to get it out.

They are 4 years apart. Must be from their mother's side (instead of our side).

Thanks for the explanation. I was wondering what kind of packaging the kid had put the "smarties" in!

I don't see anything wrong with a kid having fun with candy. He'll get bored of it after a day or two. From what I can tell, he isn't actually inhaling the stuff, is he?

Evidently the generational torch has been passed. It used to be sniffing glue or paint cans, now it's pulverized candy.

I'd like to see someone snort a slurpee...

Don't worry, we still have plenty of glue/paint/gasoline huffing happening in the less savory area of town!

These sure smelled good when I was a kid:

True that. When I was a kid we "boil candle" during the moon festival, by melting them under a fire and spray water on a lit pot with candle melt. Boom, a large flame shoot up.

A few kids got scold every year though.
