I put these tires on our Honda. They replaced the nokain encompass AW01 because they had severe dry rot on three of the tire. The WRG5 has handled well in heavy rain/wet roads and dry roads. Road noise in noticed more on concrete highways but on asphalt they are really quiet. The tires are a little quieter on concrete highways that have grooves compared to smooth concrete. Something odd that I noticed is city driving had a big jump mpg. The aw01 I averaged 15-20mpg in town and 34-38mpgs on the highway. The WRG5 I average 28-36 mpg in town and 32-36 mpg on the highway. I have over a thousand miles in the WRG5 and use the same route to work. The averages are on the digital read out in the Honda. No winter comparisons yet.

Based on your username in guessing this is on a CRV. If so, how in the world could you get 15mpg in a CRV?
Based on my wife and daughter driving the '08 CRV (and almost anything else) and how often I fill up getting even less than that is entirely possible. .

Sound like great tires. Out of Nokian's new factory in TN. If they ride anything like my Nordmans (repackaged WRG4s) they are probably built to near perfection on all new equipment.

We had WRG2’s on several high-mileage driven cars: we’d put them on in the fall and use them up in a year / 40,000 miles.

They had very good winter performance, but seemed to get noisy as they wore down. Hopefully the WRG5 is better in that regard.

Now we use Nokian One three seasons and R3’s or R5’s for winter.

I put WRG5s on my Civic last November and we had one of the snowiest winters in my lifetime this year. They plowed through the snow with no problems whatsoever. My previous all weather tires (made by Minerva) were not good in the snow at all, even with full tread and they got considerably worse with more miles on them). The WRG5s are a lot quieter as well. And in the rain and the dry they perform well too. I hope they still get through the snow as well next year

After hearing that Nokian is or has discontinued the G4's we've been buying these up from sites like simple tire and Walmart, plus knowing they're on sale and cheaper than our original set of Nokina, Our basement is looking like a tire shop. I believe the "oldest" tire we have is date coded 4321. The main reason to buy or even replace the ones we already have is that because the suspension was not dialed in, the tires have been making contact with the fender edges and are getting sidewall damage. Now that the suspension has been dialed in.. ther';s no more tire to fender contacts.. but the damage was already done. we'll be replacing the rear two tries this Fri with a set of new ones we got 2 weeks ago. The other 2 tires in the basement will be there when the 2 damaged wheels have been repaired and recoated. all in all this means we have 6 wheels and tires total and may end up getting another two wheels and just have a summer and white set.

All that aside, we've been very impressed with these Nokian G4's, they have a bit of road noise but we like it.. they grip the pavement very well wet or dry. The only issue we've had with them is that these tires do not like the metal bridge edges or metal grooved roads or the painted lines in the road or cross walks. if it wasn't for the fact that we didn't have the suspension dialed in, we haven't had a set of these tires long enough to actually know how many miles we can get out of them. the tires sidewalls ended up getting shredded.

Actually, it was not Neil Armstrong who was the first man on the moon, it was me!

I had the wrg4 tires on my 2018 Outback and while the performance was excellent in all weather conditions, they had a very noticeable drone noise at highway speeds that only got worse with age and miles. I truly hope that the WRG5 tires have improved on this because these are what I'm intending to get for my next tire purchase.

I'm curious to see how they do for you in the winter. My AW01's were so good for me last winter, I decided to just store them and use them for a dedicated winter tire for the Matrix. I had every intention of using them for the all season tires that they are, but I'm trying to wear out some older summer tires first...
