noise in 93 hyundai

my wife car [93 hyundai elantra 1.8 auto] has a ticking/vib noise that seems to come from the front dash drivers side area...noise is present when gas is pressed and by taking foot off gas or building speed to a degree that one can coast noise goes away..noise sometimes will go away or get faint when defroster is on for a while..I know this sounds confusing but if anyone can steer me in a direction to rectify this noise it would be greatly appreciated...lost and confused in truro ns can
