No oil change mower

I changed the oil on my 4.5hp B&S once or twice, then did not for a few years. Started to be low on power--and then the mower deck gave out. $100 for eight or so years? I went to take apart the mower with the kids and a number of bolts were breaking or not moving. Disposable, clearly built to be.

I bought an identical one off CL for twenty, but lately been grabbing ones from the transfer station to play with. Changing oil makes sense but I am not sure how much value. The entire thing is disposable.

Not sure I want to push around one made of cast iron either.

Not sure where your getting mowers for $100. I use a self propelled model that runs about $379 on sale. I can change the oil once a year and it should last 15 years minimum.

I bought a leftover stock, cheapest mower I could find at Home Depot. Err, I guess that was ten years ago now... I have no use for self propelled, although last year I got a bagger which I very much like. My yard is maybe a half of an acre to mow, so a simple push mower works well for me.
