Supertech Full Synthetic 5w30 in Norman Oklahoma without dexos badge. Taken today. I guess they are dropping the certification to keep up with demand.

Still on the bottles here.

Might depend on who is bottling it too…..
It sold out locally when the prices all went up last week. This looked new stock. I was in a hurry and only got one picture. I really don’t think the 20k they had was Dexos either. I’ll try to get back over there in a few days and get some better pics.

We are pretty close to their main distribution center. More so than other areas. This is definitely a change from what it was even just a week or so ago.

Went by another, small, rural Walmart tonight.

The Dexos badging appears to be in a state of flux. 0w20 20k with no Dexos Badging. Shows on the website that it is.

There must be a mixture of new and old stuff that is and is-not approved. This Walmart has 5w30 10k jugs with Dexos (no pic🤦🏻‍♂️) and High Mileage 5w30 20k with and without.

Didn't GM refuse to allow base oil changes without re-testing ? Or am I just imagining that ?
I think you're right. They wouldn't allow any sort of emergency exemption either, when they were pressed on it.

I think we'll see Dexos go extinct soon. Perhaps Mobil will stick with it since they have GM as a big customer. But perhaps even the Mobil 0 (non-1 "Full Synthetic") will drop it.
