I put a carb kit on my backpack blower today and before I wasted anytime doing that I wanted to make sure it wasn't a compression issue. When I first bought this blower I checked the compression and it showed 155psi. When I checked today it was still 155psi.

To put it in car terms, at a sustained 60 MPH that's 90,000 miles. In more realistic terms, if it's one that's been used purely for long trips it may be 60,000 actual miles - that's an average of 40 MPH. Now, 2-cycle OPE doesn't usually have an equivalent engine lifespan to a modern automobile, but if cars can routinely do 250-300K highway miles with negligible compression loss I can fathom a blower doing it for 1/4 that long.
