Has anyone else noticed a lack of Castrol oil at their local Walmart? The one in my town usually has a full supply of nearly every grade but for the last month (possibly longer) they have not restocked any Castrol oil. There a just a couple jugs of random grades of Edge left.

Exactly! The 0W40 is what I was looking for but they dont seem to be in a hurry to restock anything Castrol related.

Might not have anything to do with Wal-mart. I bet Castrol doesn't have enough supply to keep up with the demand. Wal-mart is alloted so much as is other retailers.

I checked online a couple weeks ago for stock at my local Wallyworld and it showed zero stock. Went to the local store and they had a few containers. Other WallyWorlds in the vicinity no longer carried it due to lack of sales. Per the CS person in the Auto section.

It could be that indeed. Less and less people actually change their own oil.

Just go online and order what you want on the Walmart.com

In a few days they will have it for you to pick up, not on the shelves does not mean unavailable.

Great deals today on Mobil 1 0w40

There is no shortage of Castrol products up here though. I know we're a smaller market in Canada, but if there was any kind of shortage in North America you'd think we'd also be hit with low stock levels here.

Same in my area. 5qt containers of Edge are hard to find right now at Walmart. Others auto stores have them (AA, OReillys, AZ... at a higher price. Wonder if Castrol is not negotiating prices to the levels Walmart wants.

I'll bet Walmart is trying to dictate wholesale price to Castrol Inc... one that's too low for Castrol Inc to swallow. Thus no more Edge for either a while, or permanently.

Big retail corporations like Castrol can stand-up and draw a line in the sand, with the Dictator Waltons.

If they still have a 'slot' and price tags for an oil, I'm confident that means it's simply sold out. It's not a case of "Walmart doesn't carry it anymore".

Isn't this topic as frequent as "Amazon has their own oil" too ?

Hmm. Ok BP had about 245 billion dollars in revenue in 2017. BP is not exactly in the soup kitchen line.

The point I was trying to make is that its been this way for months. Not just in the last couple days. Ill keep the excrement to a minimum.

I checked out that link. A number of those entries are out of stock and the ones available are two day shipping.
