Got my new tires on the JLU - went with the Nitto Recon Grapplers. Wanted a lightweight tire (these only weigh 52 lbs each for a 35" tire (well, 34.3" versus 34.5" so less than 1/4" difference, whereas most others were load range C or E and weighed well over 60 lbs). Have always had good luck with Toyos and Nittos, probably 4 sets of the original Terra Grapplers and have had 3 sets of the Open Country ATIIIs across a few Jeeps and the LR3.

I've put about 600 miles on them. They are nearly silent, ride great, and balanced great - smooth as fast as I've had the chance to go (90 mph). Do great in the rain. They look amazing too, at least to me. I chose to put the more aggressive sidewall out. Can't wait to try them off road! The spare no longer fit the stock mount, hit the bumper, so had to drive home from Discount Tire with the spare in the back. Got a new Teraflex Alpha HD tire mount to fix that, love it. Very adjustable and the tire sits firm against the stops on the tailgate.

First two pics are most recent, after washing it and getting them shined up.

I'm assuming with your name maybe you lived or are from Indiana. I had cousins in Indiana for many years, one even went to Purdue.

I know this question is hard to quantify in a Jeep-but how are the noise levels with the tires?

Very quiet actually. I'd say a little louder than my wife's X3, but not bad at all. Quieter than most of the non luxury rental cars I get, I had a Terrain last year that was so loud I did a dB comparison between it and the wrangler, it was like 78dB and the Wrangler was like 70dB going the same speed on the same road, which is actually a decent difference and I'd say with these tires its even quieter now.
