Nissan has sent out a notice extending the warranty for a specific evap system component, the evap vapor vent tube located between the fuel tank and the evap emission canister. The warranty has been extended to 15 years or 150,000 miles for this component only.

The vent tube can become blocked and produce symptoms where the filling station nozzle can shut off prematurely and long before the tank is full.

The On-Board Diagnostics software will not indicate this blockage.

The warranty is Not extended to other evap system components.

I addressed this on my XTerra before it became a problem. Especially when off-roading, dirt and mud gets kicked up and sucked into the tube. Solution was to extend the hose and route it behind the driver's side tail light where nothing can get inside. You can add a filter on the end at its normal location, but that still doesn't stop water from getting in.

I have had a few times where my fuel system would shut down a bit early or even way early.... Though it hasn't happened in awhile... I thought at the time it was a gas station pump issue .. . And it could gave well been that.... I have had issues with super slow gas pumps or other issues. However, this here makes me wonder if this was in fact my issue from time to time. Well I am at 258k miles.... I well outside of any warranty any how
