Nissan Key

I'm getting ready to install a remote starter in a friend's Nissan Altima ('04). We have a third key on order, but I haven't been able to find out how to program the car to accept the key anywhere. Every resource seems to say that the dealer has to hook it up to the computer to do it.

Anyone know anything about these cars?

I did the install Sunday, using their valet key in the transponder. Worked on the first try, too! Some of those wires in the factory harnesses were surprisingly small- there's no way I would have been able to do it without using those 3M crimp-on T connectors. They recommend stripping insulation from the existing wire leaving the conductor intact, and soldering the pigtail on. There's no way...
