Ninja vs standard snapper blade?

Ninja is for mulching. Most "standard" Snapper blades are of the "high lift" variety, intended to create a strong vacuum that lifts the grass to cut it, and then discharges the grass through the side discharge port or into the bag if so attached.

So are you mulching, or bagging is the answer.

And just verifying that we are talking about the old school Snapper mower with the disk drive, and not the Wal-Mart MTD rebadged mowers?

Yes, as long as the grass is dry and fine. It seems to work better if bagging dry leaves. However if crab grass or other grasses With high moisture content, or tall grass then you will have better results with the high lift blade.

I have a 21” Snapper Ninja Commercial mower. The Ninja blade is all it’s ever had on it. It does a fantastic job. The mower didn’t even come with a side discharge chute. A discharge chute can be purchased but, the Ninja mower isn’t designed for bagging.

What kind of grass do you have? I have centipede grass and use a Honda walker 21" with dual mulching blade. Never had any problems even after a few weeks of growth and lots of rain. Fescue or other types may be problematic if you wait too long between cuttings.

think I will replace with a regular blade.
my grass is so thick in summer hard to mulch

Mulching usually does require you to mow more often. I think the rule of thumb is you shouldn't cut more than 1/3 the length of the grass at a time.

Personally I would rather mow my yard twice mulching than bag in once.

I have the ninja blade on my Snapper. I'm not sure it's any better than a conventional mulching blade. I also have a lawnboy 2 stroke mower and I'm convinced the lawnboy does a better job. Though, both are excellent.

I had the exact same set-up for many years and had the same conclusions. I think my Ariens 30" with the hi-lift blade mowed the yard better (nicer looking results) than the Snapper rider with the Ninja blade in mulching mode. YMMV.
