Just purchased last week and slapped a Trijicon RMR on it. So far, I'm very impressed.

I wanted a 10mm because you can shoot very vanilla and wild stuff.…and anything in-between.

Any Nighthawk owners here?

Beautiful gun. I went Cabot/Alchemy with my (for me anyway) high end 1911's. 45, 9mm, & 10mm. If you haven't, try a higher end 9mm. I have an Alchemy Prime ELite in 9mm and it's like a 22 tack-driver.

Enjoy it! I bet the long slide softens the pop of full house rounds pretty well.

I looked at the Alchemy 1911's.... my buddy has Night Hawks, swears by them, let me shoot his, and now I'm hooked. LOL!!

I don't think I could spend that much money on a 9mm. I got some nice CZ's and Glocks in 9mm, and they make me happy enough at the range.

Does Alchemy make a 10mm?

That's a long gun.

Are you happy to see me or is that your 10mm?

We plan to use it for Action Shooting at the range. They have a Club for it, and we decided to try it out (that's why the optic was installed). 9mm would be cheaper to shoot, but with this gun, I can run ammo for the wife, practice with real defense rounds in it, and carry it with Bear loads.

That’s a beautiful gun. I have several 10mm pistols, Glock, Springfield, Dan Wesson and Smith & Wesson.

Most 10mm ammo is loaded to .40 S&W specification. 180g at about 1,000 FPS. Same projectile at 1,300 FPS is a real 10mm load and has almost twice the muzzle energy. I recommend Buffalo Bore 180g hollow point for self defense. Cor Bon makes a good load as well.

I have carried the Glock as bear protection while in the Colorado Backcountry - loaded with Buffalo Bore 220g Hardcast.

I’m not familiar with Action Shooting - but you’re right, you can load this up, or down, depending on the use at the time.

But that Nighthawk is almost too nice to shoot! 😎

I haven't heard of Heinie in a long time. 30 years ago he was amongst the best gunsmiths on the planet. 4-5 year waitlist back then.

Beautiful long slide.

And to think I’ve carried a G-19 loaded with buffalo bore hardcast outdoorsman ammo deep in bear country 😁😁

I hope you meant a G-20. The G-20 is a 10mm full size, with 15+1 of 10mm. That’s the exact combo I carry, though it’s been a couple of years since I’ve been hunting.

Nope, people don’t understand how a 9mm shooting hard cast bullets out of a G19 can take down a bear. It’s all about shot placement and penetration and I can put way more 9mm bullets faster and more accurate on target than someone shooting a 10mm

it’s funny shooting against someone with a 10mm or big bore revolver on the clock 15 feet small paper plate as target & when the target turns you draw and shoot

I constantly get 9-10 rds inside the paper plate wile 2-3 is the average between revolver and 10mm

I do have 3 44 Mags and a couple three 357 Mags so it’s not like I don’t have options

Very nice. I’ve been a 10mm fan for many years. In fact, I was shooting it back when Double Tap actually loaded legit ammo for it. Lol

Have had a couple of G20s over the years. Currently only 10mm I have is a Sig 220 legion. As you mentioned it’s so incredibly versatile. As mentioned above, most 10mm is loaded to .40S&W. I don’t have any experience with Corbon or Buffalo Bore but they have a good reputation and have had for many years.

I personally use underwood for 10mm (and 357sig). Really like their 180/200 grain XTPs for woods carry here in Alabama.

That is a very handsome pistol.
I always regret not owning a really nice, 1911 based pistol. 10mm would have been my preferred cartridge too, or just maybe .38 super. All just a distant memory now of course.
