I just put a bitog link on Wikipedia.

eljefino,

Good job. Nothing's better than using wikipedia and finding a link to THE definitive site on a topic.
No place on the Internet gives more oil data than here.
It's SAD how hard it is to find good motor oil information.

+1, love Wiki.

The corollary to how hard it is to find good motor oil information is how easy it is to find good motor oil

BTW, this thread may well go down in history as that which ignited the greatest Wiki conflagration ever.

I'm expecting Bitog members to "flesh" out this Wiki article with solid insights gleaned from the hard fought "dino vs. syn" and "light vis. vs. heavy vis." oil war battles fought here on the forum. Should be an interesting edit history.

Just to get the ball rolling, does the picture leading the article subtly imply that a Mobil 1 synthetic oil of a minimum 30 wt is best for the average consumer?

Finally, what's the symbolism of 2/3 full motor oil in an old fashioned (my favorite mixed drink BTW - best ones I've had were at the Breaker's Hotel Seafood Grill Lounge with the aquarium bar top, in Palm Beach - Dr. Haas any comments here?) drinking glass?

Now we need an article in Wiki on oil analysis. Be nice whenever a discussion comes up on motor oil on other car forum to just reference the relevant articles on Wiki.

BTW - I just put in the section titled "Common Points of Discussion and Controversies Regarding Motor Oil"
