I see they are South Korean made and come OEM on a lot of KIA/Hyndai and transit vans. Local BJ's has Buy 3 get 1 free and free installation. Van and Mazda in the sig need tires before inspection next month. Out the door with both cars I'm looking at just a hair over $1K. Decent deal? I also notice the Nexen's come in a few different flavors

IMHO, they are not even mid tier and are very overpriced, basing opinion on factory tires cars came with.
I had a set of Nexen AH7s, rated for 80k miles. I ended up replacing them at like only 35k because they began riding hard and handling sketchy in the rain.

NOPE. I know OEM tires are different, most likely giving up wear for higher MPG, but I have driven a few cars with Nexen, and would not buy. I do buy lower cost tires, but lots of research first. Nexen seems to wear quickly, and performance diminishes more quickly.
205/55-16 is a common size 
You should consider all-weather tires. If price is a concern, get the Milestar AW365. Both H and V rated versions are available.
If you don't want to go quite that cheap, there's the Nokian Nordman Solstice 4 (old WRG4)

Nexen are entry level tires. I would go with the coopers or uniroyals
I'd go with one of the Uniroyal models. Don't you have a Discount Tire shop near you?
Not sure if I would pay that price for Nexen. You can probably get better tires from Walmart delivered to you or a Walmart to install for either better quality / brands or cheaper and still the same quality.
Nope none in PA I don't think.
There are several DT stores in PA, two near Pittsburgh, and one in Altoona. Another two use the name America's Tire, one in Scranton and one in Wilkes-Barre.

Look around there. They have a bunch of good brands and it appears that there are rebates on just about everything ranging from $80 for 4 ($20 off per tire) to $120 for 4 ($30 off per tire).
The enticement for you for the Nexen was the buy 3 get one free sale. The rebates offered of some of the other brands is just about as good.
I'd choose a 91H tire out of the choices since it gives a high load rating and strong speed rating. You should always buy at least what the vehicle manufacturer recommends so check your door sticker for speed rating (the "H") and load rating (the "91" or "89").
That Cooper Endeavor looks nice but it doesn't have a rebate so it's $128.99 plus the tax, disposal, state tire fee, etc.

KUMHO SOLUS TA51A should be a good All Season tire, cheap.
SUMITOMO HTR ENHANCE LX2 should be a good All Season tire, cheap.
FALKEN AKLIMATE should be a good All Season tire, cheap.
Something like those, you can get them at Tirerack and have them shipped and installed by a local shop.

i would go with Uniroyal's out of that bunch.
I have bought tires at BJs and they did not do a very good job of mounting, id probably take my chances with wal mart first.
Try tire rack and see if they have a recommended installer?
