I ordered both sets to compare them to choose which to put on my frontier. I noticed when pushing on the tread tire not on a wheel it's a lot more flexible and giving on the nexen. The general is stiffer. However I believe the plies etc are the same. Which tire would you choose and why would one be more flexible and one be stiffer? Does than mean anything or is it just a non issue difference. Interested to learn more on this topic!

Run, don't walk away from General. The most out of round tires I ever had were General's on my Frontier. The replacements - which they charged a pro-rate because I drove a few thousand miles fighting them on - were not great either - like 30-40lbf Road Force balance.

I think I would walk before install Generals again.

I would go with the General Grabber mostly because Nexen is more of a budget level and General is upper mid. I had nexen on a daily driver econo car and it was good for about 20-25k miles

Which one has cooler looking tread? :D

Even if you can't decide any other way, most people might choose the one that's cheaper instead of buying both in the first place :sneaky:

I'd sure go with Generals first. Thing is tires come from different plants and countries and process and QC may differ a ton even for same tire model but different sizes and COO may make all the difference. First hand experience with 3 sets of Generals made in Germany and very positive one.

That is a hardly a scientific test. Nexens are made in South Korea among other places globally. As such-you will not get unbiased comments on here.

The nexens were made it south Korea and the generals in South Africa.

I have a set of General Grabber X3 MTs and I have been happy with them.
The ride is a bit harsh because they are too high of a load rating for my vehicle, but I bought them knowing that as there were very few tyres available at a reasonable price during the pandemic.
