"I did the compression test as promised and here are the results:

1. 140
2. 140
3. 145
4. 145
5. 145

Are these pretty good? "

Considering your engine is turbo therefore lower compression from factory, I'd say yeah, their not too bad at all. My 88 325is has about 160k miles and it pushes about 160psi on all 6 cylinders.

IMHO, I'd go to Rotella T or Esso XD-3, great cleansing properties, and an overall tough motor oil!!!

Sadly Esso XD-3 is not sold down here in the U.S.

Thanks for the replies. I've put some thought into the oil I'm going to use and I think I've decided on Delo 400 15W40. I like the additive package and I'm just not ready to make the switch to synth just yet. Hoping to do another analysis with the Delo and see what numbers I get back. If I can't lower the Fe and Al then maybe I'll consider Auto-Rx and synth after that. Sound like a plan???

Use a synth. If you are afraid of the true synths, use a pseudo synth(group III). RotellaT is my recommendation. Also, drive more miles for your next UOA. Yep, I think your engine is dirty.
Doesn't anyone think that the insolubles are high for 1400 miles??

I didn't warm the car up enough before I took the sample. Couldn't that have something to do with it?
