New Yukon Trans/Diff fluids change

I know that the owner manual has some very extended fluid change intervals. But I am wondering if it would be a good idea to change out the transmission, transfer and differential fluids soon, sort of like when changing the oil on an accelerated schedule on a new engine ???

At what mileage should I do the first fluid changes on the new 2005 Yukon ??? Also what automatic transmission, transfer case and differential fluids are recommended ???

Well... myself and a lot of others on this board will definately agree to change your axle oil at an early interval - towing or not. If you have the G80 rear axle, this is important as the factory synthetic grape-smelling fluid degrades quickly (around 10-20k miles). I would refill that with a high quality synthetic (I used Amsoil Extreme Pressure Severe Gear Syn Lube 75w-90, which cured my clutch binding problem in my anti-slip G80 axle)

As far as the T-Case goes. You can ONLY use GM's Auto-Trak II fluid. Its blue, cost $6-$7 a quart at the dealer and NOBODY makes a substitute. I havent changed mine yet, my 2002 Envoy has 68k. I know I need to though. Its recommended at 50k according to www.mygmlink.com

Transmission: Change every 50k or less.

Oil: well you came to the right place (BITOG)to get that info. Just read some posts on the Oil forum. I recommend Mobil 1 synthetic with a good old Ac-Delco oil filter. Just my $.02 Im sure some other guys on here will chip in and give you some more opinions...

Agree on the early change of rear end fluid for sure. The first change is the most important because all the metal and clutch wear products from the parts wearing in initially is still in there. Few people change it ever in the non-BITOG world, but I think it's worth the $20-odd in fluids vs. maybe the cost of a diff later on. This is assuming you aren't getting rid of the car in a couple years.
