This new little cat is ready for the field. 3512c even has the "Flexability Engine" EPA sticker.

I always think these gens are cool to look at it. I see them from time to time at work and I am the last one out of the room out of the group, just looking at the "giant size" parts that go into it.

The 51.8 L displacement is what caught my eye. A buddy at work has a fairly new Mustang with a ~5 L V8. This thing has ten times that, whoa mama. What's that old saying... "There's no replacement for displacement"?

Drill mud/ slurry pump?

4400 horsepower? Does that go into a dash-9 locomotive? I run locomotives at work that have 4400 horsepower, but im not sure what engine is in them.

You are probably talking about the EMD SD70ACe locomotives with the 710 series engines.

Cool engine! Nice to see them shiny and new!

Gotta ask...what oil does it run? 'Standard' 15w40, just lots of it? What is it being used in?

It is a mudpump. 1475 hp
85 gallon sump. This one has a factory fill of CAT DEO 10w30. In a few thousand hours or condemned UOA it will run Chev Delo 400 LE 15w40.

We don't need all of that hp but how does the saying go? It's better to have and not need than to need and not have.
