New vehicle has 5 engine idle hours

personally wouldn’t worry about idle hours. we have these engines with thousands of idle hours without an issue.

Should see some of our fleet vehicles... One of the trucks I recently used is a 2022 F150 with just under 5000 hours of idling time... (There are work reasons for this idling time - not just wasting gas...)

Wouldn't sweat 5 hours at delivery at all!

Again, that's what the warranty requires. I have a lifetime warranty. A "guy I know" uses 5 quarts of 5W-20 in his Ram for the receipts and sneaks in 2 quarts of 10W-30.

Ahhh, the old "lifetime warranty". Well, being a 2015, that's a pretty good idea, since that's still within the era prone to lifter failure.

I'd use 0w20 over 5w20 every day, all day long. 0w20 is a lot stouter oil than 5w20.

Not always, but it is often the case, using a better base oil blend than most 5W-20's.
