New Valvoline Heavy Duty Diesel oils

Fs hdeo only comes in 15w-40 but has 4.3 hths 1240zn 1100ph and a noack of 8.4 which is pretty good and if not priced too high it' worth buying. I think under $21 is fair and I'd try it. It almost competes with m1 15w-50 with 4.5 hths.
For the syn blend I'm not sure I like the higher than usual noack of them both especially the 15w-40 4.2 hths syn blend being 11%. 10w-30 3.6 hths is 10.5%. Same zn and ph as Fs.
I don't think the 15w-40 is worth buying unless it's under $15 but the 10w-30 would be the one I'd put on the shelf since 10w-30 hdeo's are in low supply and many diesels spec them. If wallys sells the 10w-30 for under $16 I'd bite.

Wonder if they'd be using the same add pack as their "Advanced Full Synthetic" HDEO 5w-40 w/slightly lower grade base oil. Valvoline seems to be getting priced higher now that they've been sold to different country & have a seemingly endless $5 off rebate. I'd still use it if the price is right. Will keep an eye out.
Their full sun 15w40 is like $26~ at my Rural King. Pass
I'd never pay that but they sometimes do rebates so if one comes up for these oils and it's enough I might buy. But I prefer to get a good price without rebates.

The new valvoline seems to be missing the cummins
If Ford won’t approve it for use in their 6.7 PowerStroke, I won’t run it in My Cummins either.

I trust Chevron to formulate an antiwear additive package that meets/exceeds Ford's antiwear expectations without meeting their minimum ZDDP levels. It's like a doctor telling you to eat an apple a day without realizing there are other fruits and vegetables that exist. I'm inclined to care more about the oil's performance than the chemistry that supports it. We live in times of changing chemistry.
Delo reformulated the XSP 15w-40 to get F1 approval. There's suspicion the 5w-40 will go the same way (hence the recent clearances.)

2. If a frog had wings, he wouldn’t bump his butt every time he jumped. I’ve run literally thousands of gallons of Delo oil for millions of miles. It was what the company I worked for specified and it was their trucks and it worked fine. But the new numbed down stuff is not the same oil that it previously was.
Maybe they will reformulate the 5-40 and move their corporate office to Houston. I may try it if they do.
Just another flavor full synthetic 15w40 to occupy shelf space next to Rotella T6, Delvac Extreme, and Delo XSP. It will be in the 24.99 to 29.99 price range I suspect.
Best bang for the buck is Wally World Delo Full Synthetic XSP 15w40 in the 12 quart box at 57.99. Meijer grocery has Valvoline Premium Blue Extreme 5w40 for $25.99 a gallon every day by me, that’s what I recently grabbed.

Most of the auto parts stores around me are overpriced in general unless it’s on sale, rebate, or clearance priced.
It’s the same around here. Walmart is up to 25 something for T6 lately. I usually have a big enough stash I can wait for the sales. Sam’s usually has a sale every now and then for T6.
Delo, VPBE, Delvac is always priced very well in my area. Ran through my stash of Mobil delvac extreme and my local walmart was out of stock so decided to try delo 400 XLE synthetic blend with WSS-M2C171-F1 now on the bottle. Have always been accustomed to using a oil with the WSS-M2C171-F1 label.
