Shop vac's do not make good vacuums for inside the house for a couple of reasons.
Vacuuming while bent over because of the flexible hose would get real old real quick. Before she died, my mother in law decided she wanted one for her small apartment. She hated it after the first use because of this and the noise.
Shop vac's don't filter well-my Rigid spews some dust when started if it's been sitting unused for a few weeks. The filter is newer and it's emptied after each use.
You'll be far better off getting a quality vacuum that's meant for household use and leave the shop vac for the garage or shop.
