I have a 2001 S4 that requires Audi 502.00 spec oil. I had been bringing it to a mechanic who uses Elf (Total) products and he used a 5w-40 weight oil.
Anyways I have access to a garage now and have decided to start doing the oil myself and I'm really confused about Total's packaging here. Could anyone clarify the difference between these two oils? Is there actually a difference between the two(aside from the weight)??
Total Quartz Energy 9000 0W-30
"100% Synthetic lubricant, Total Technology" etc. Meets VW 502.00:
Total Quartz Energy 9000 0w30 Information
Total Quartz Energy 9000 5W-40
"Very high performance lubricant using Total synthetics technology..."
Meets VW 502.00, refer to fact sheet:
Total Quartz Energy 9000 5W-40 Fact Sheet
I just did an oil change using the 5W-40, which to me is a preferred weight in the 2.7T engine. Any thoughts? Any oil suggestions for a newbie for this engine?
Thanks
