About a month ago I purchased a new 2008 Nissan Frontier 4.0L V-6. Last week it rolled over 3400 mi. so I decided I would change the oil. I grabbed a sample as I drained the oil and sent it off for testing. This is the engine oil that came from the factory which is 5w30 I assume??
The lab report:
"Glycol was not detected in this sample. The viscosity level (8.7 cSt.) is abnormally low. Low viscosity could be caused by incorrect lubricant or fuel dilution."

Is this normal for a break-in oil sample? The oil in the sample bottle looked very dark.
