It didn't on the computer that I had to disinfect FWIW. That's what it was running.

If you want a very robust solution to virus, then run Ubuntu Linux.
You can run Windows in a virtual session on top of Linux if your stuck on Windows. With a virtual OS, if it gets messed up, just restore a stored snapshot and the problem is gone in an instant. No reinstalling or reconfiguring or running malware bytes is needed, etc...
You can save the machine state and get near instant starts and stops of Windows when virtualized.
Plus you get to have some fun learning something new.
Virtualbox or Vmware.

Some people like to play games. That's the predominant reason I have Windows 7 on this box.

This one looks like it was surfing Google to nab folks as they searched. I checked out a link to a Prius forum when searching for Yokohama tires from Google and got nailed.

Geswall,Defensewall,Sandboxie - all isolate your browser from the from the rest of the PC. I use GeSWall with no antivirus, have been now for years, with zero issues.

Is this new rouge using a drive-by download that you have to click to install (social engineering route) or is it using a Javascript exploit?
