My father and I purchased identical tractors. 2025 Kubota L2502 HST. We opted for hybrid tires to save our grass, and I had the rear tires filled for ballast from the purchasing dealer. I was gifted a box blade from my dad, and have a ballast box/front forks in the mail. The owner's manual calls for 10w-30 or 15w-40. At 50 hours, I was going to use Rotella T6 15w-40. I currently have 4 hours on it.

Today, I moved 10 tons of crushed rock and leveled the pad for my 5th wheel camper. It took about 2 hours of work. It was a blast to operate!

Tractors are an absolute blast. The past week off/on I've been working on a side parking area and plowed some underbrush choking a few oak trees. Good times ahead for you sir.

Congrats! I love my L2501, its my go-to machine for everything. I traded in a skidsteer when I bought it and never regretted that decision.

A couple things:
- If you do a lot of loader work and dig a lot of soil, consider a tooth bar. It helps break into a pile or dig.
- If you mow with it, consider a 4ft brush-hog or 5ft finish mower. I have a 5ft hog and 6ft finish mower and both need just a whisker more PTO power.
- Forks are great for moving large things, but are not a replacement for a grapple. My mind refuses to believe this though.
- I really like the Kubota filters and my dealer sells them as a kit.
- Use Super UDT2 for the trans, AMSOIL Signature Series Max Duty for the engine (now), and gear oil in the front diff.
- Mine has been flawless except for the Tach cable. For some reason the cable breaks at the timing case. I lube it and keep the machine in the garage, but I have replaced 3 cables since I bought it in 2017.

My Kubota dealer told me my new RTV-X was built on a tractor platform vs others built from an ATV base.

So I asked about front end loader and back hoe options. 😇

Nice tractor. I have the older L2501. (Not sure what’s mechanically different aside from the electronic clutch.) My only limitation with it has been ground clearance in snow. Zero complaints otherwise.

When I started seeing the 33 and 3902 at the dealer alongside the 2501, I was worried the 25 hp L option was going to get discontinued. Good to see that’s not the case.

I am not sure what they did to the D1703 to make it put out only 25 hp, but it’s an absolute brute. My zero turn has a much smaller engine and puts out the same hp. Doesn’t sound as mean either. lol

Check out the Messicks channel on YouTube. They're a family owned Kubota dealership back east. Neil posts really informative videos about tractor care, attachments etc. I miss visiting my grandparents farm in the summer and driving their tractors.
