I installed the sway bar at 200 miles, so it wasn't an extensive comparison but I noticed a big reduction in body roll. The truck seems to understeer a bit more but feels a lot more stable, both in steering stability and body roll. I would strongly encourage adding the sway bar if you've got a Tundra. That should have been a factory install.

Interesting, I'll have to look into that. But first I need to do the AIP blockoff, I've been lazy on that one.

I've not heard of the AIP blockoff before...this is a Flex-Fuel 5.7...is the AIP a high-failure item?

Thanks,
Astro

Great looking truck Astro14! I have a 2011 Double Cab 4x4 with the non flex fuel 5.7. I have used TGMO 0W-20, Mobil 1 AFE 0w-20, and Castrol Edge 0w-20. My next oil change will probably be Mobil 1 EP 0w-20 for a yearly change.

I like the looks of that sway bar and may look into one myself. I flirted with the idea of adding the TRD Supercharger and almost bought it when I purchased the truck new. However, that was a lot of cash to put down on top of a 25% down payment plus taxes.

Enjoy your truck! Here is an older picture of mine.

Used to be, not sure about today--like always, "its been fixed", or so people say. Internet amplification would have one believe "all" Tundras have this issue. I haven't kept up to know if it's gone away or not, and when that did--all I know is that I'm still under warranty for it.

Yeah...I've been Googling since you mentioned it...and AIP was an issue in the 2nd Gen Toyotas with V-8s, including the 4Runner...but the web has been quiet about it in recent model years...

By the way, your truck looks great. I like the TRD package and was considering the step bars you've got...it's a bit of a climb to get in (easy for me, not so much for Mrs. Astro).

Was that a dealer install, or did you install that?

The bars I have were a CL find--someone bought them, they rusted under warranty, the manufacturer replaced them and told the guy to toss 'em. So he sold 'em on CL for cheap money.

Win for everyone, as I wasn't sure I was going to like them (maybe it'd be a shin basher, or I'd hate the look). Mine are all rotted and I'm not sure what I'd replace them with, but they do their job quite well. In winter I'll bang my boots on them instead of the doorsill.

IIRC, there are six bolts on each rocker, if you crawl up underneath and look. On the cab, not the frame. I popped out the bolts and... used either the used bars came with bolts, bought new ones or reused the ones on the truck... don't recall now. But it was a 10 minute install, 5 a side, and most of that because of trying to hold it up one handed.

I'm assuming you are talking about mine. If so, they are powder coated NFabs. I ordered them off the internet but don't remember where. Very easy install that my son and I did in just a few minutes.
