I’ve been looking at these for some time now and finally brought this one home on Black Friday, of all days.😆
It’s pretty clean with only 650miles on it and very minor plastic damage on the left side.
And of course some amateurs installed a fender eliminator on it, damaged some fasteners and just left the wires to hang whenever. Good thing the lights are working correctly.

It had its 600mile service but I will do my own soon, the brake fluid is also due as it’s a 22 model.

Anything else I should be aware on these? Feedback much appreciated.

No tips from me, but I think these need a little warning sticker on the windshield. "The distant horizon may appear closer than expected"
One quiet evening at the gas station, a guy pulled out on the highway, and was a half mile away over the rise, in 3 gears what seemed like 10 seconds.
Have fun though, on the right kind of roads, they must be a rush!

Congrats.

Man I can't stand hacks. 🤦‍♂️

You can get the OE seat bolts (part # 45191-15H00) from several online distributors. Rocky Mountain ATVMC is one place.

That crap wiring could be improved and cleaned up too.

Make sure the NHTSA Recall #24V769 has been done. It involves replacing the front master cylinder. https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/rcl/2024/RCONL-24V769-0825.pdf

My 3rd gen 'Busa is the only stock bike I own. It runs great as-is. The OEM Bridgestone S22 tires are decent all-around tires, but mine were done by 1500 miles.

I noticed the MPG improved after about 4k miles, after it was broken in. Not that you buy a 'Busa for great MPG. LOL. Fun fact, at it's restricted top speed, mine was getting an instantaneous 9.8 MPG.

I've owned most of the big bore road burners since the early 90's. FJ1200, ZX-11D, CBR1100XX, ZX-12R, 1st gen Hayabusa (still own), 3rd gen 'Busa, and I've ridden the others I didn't own extensively CBR1000, GSXR1100, FZR1000, YZF1000, ZX-14, ZX-14R, K1200s, K1300S, etc.

I/we own two S1000RR's, and a Ducati Panigale V4 Speciale, and owned several other Liter class sportbikes over the years, but those are in a different category to the Liter+ GT style bikes.

Out of them all, the Hayabusa is my favorite big bore roadburner, and is in fact my favorite bike of all time. Hopefully yours treats you well.

Any questions, feel free to ask.

Nice bike! I’ve had a Gen 1 and 2, had a turbo on the Gen 1.

Which turbo kit did you have on your 1st gen? I believe you said you're in Alberta, so I'd assume one of Richard Peppler's kits.
I helped several people run TurboBusa's on the Bonneville Salt Flats for years.

What the heck. This is a prime opportunity for some bike pics.

This bike held the record in it's class (1350 MPS-BG) at 246 MPH for several years.

Dual ceramic ball-bearing Innovative turbo, making 615 rwhp on VP Import gas, at 36 PSI of boost.

NLR TurboBusa on Methanol. It made 670 rwhp, but Salt conditions held it to 235 MPH

Yea me too. I ordered new bolts and I'm thinking of getting an OEM fender from e-bay, they're super cheap right now.
I also need to order the male plug, as instead of re-using the original one and soldering the wires, they left the female end open and spliced into another 12v source, total dummies.

Congrats.

I think the recall was done, the owner mentioned it, but I'm going to double check with Suzuki.

Nice assortment you've got under your belt. The only big bore I had before the busa is the K1200S. I have to put more time on the busa, but I think the K1200S telelever suspension may be nicer riding on rough roads.

Who knows what if anything the previous owner did to the suspension settings. If you have the owners manual, you can set it to the factory default settings, and then adjust from there if desired. Also check the tire pressure.

The brakes should be very responsive. If not, bleed them. The Brembo Stylema calipers are very good. With the 3rd gen, they finally had good brakes from the factory. They can be improved with steel braided lines from several manufacturers.

You’re right, the previous owner was much heavier than me and likely the suspension is adjusted to his weight.
The brakes are fantastic, I would say on par with the servo assisted ones on the K1200S, but without the complications.

Incredible machines. More than I could or would want to handle.
What blows my mind is that performance wise a 5,000lb family car (T-Plaid) can run with it all the way to the limits.
And the new Chevy ZR1 can dust it. That's just insanity. Who needs to go that fast.....that quickly?

20 years ago unthinkable.

Beautiful.

I had a 1982 Suzuki GS1100E.

I like Zukes!

Nice bikes !!

I hate crap wiring and hacks. Probably has contributed to the demise of a few bikes. The older the bikes, usually more hackery. Iv'e had to fix a few myself.

Nice bike. Look after it and enjoy the rush (without getting carried away:))
Chain & tyre wear are on the high side because of the weight & torque but also depends on your riding style.
If it were my bike, I would only use top grade synthetic 10w50.
The damaged bolt is shocking. Someone must have used the wrong shape driver. If it is for keeping the seat in place, it should have been easy to unscrew unless it had seized or put on with thread locker (on my CBR, they come loose with time)

Only ones I see around here are people with stupid extended swingarms and tires that are bald right down the middle.

I do miss my ZZR1200 sometimes, but it's probably best I gave it up. Maybe if I lived somewhere less populous, but riding a bike around here is pretty much going to get you hurt.

Had the bike on about a 20 mile ride a few days ago and it's a super easy riding motorcycle. It's got several riding modes and honestly I'm not sure why they have so many option, with the exception maybe for rain. I had it in the most aggressive power mode and it never felt jumpy or choppy. Just smooth power delivery from low speeds/RPM to about 7-8k rpm, as that's all the riding conditions allowed, but I can't imagine it would be any different all the way to the redline. I guess they want to cater to the less experienced riders?

What's strange is that it's quite heavy pushing around the garage. Perhaps it will loosen up a bit with break-in, but I doubt it. I expected it to be easier to handle and I had a Valkyrie Interstate, so it's not like I'm not experienced with the heavy weights.
