New Tires and Wheel Alignment

I am getting new tires for my auto. The car needs a wheel alignment. Should I get the alignment done before installing the new tires ( Costco does not do alignments) or after they are installed? Which way is preferable.

Get new tires before the alignment. You want your car to be aligned properly after the new tires are put on so you want the noew ones on when the alignment is done.

Dad has done it several times where he has had the tires installed, then drove directly to the alignment shop.

I'd rather do it on the new tyres, with their rolling radius etc rather than a worn (and possibly non-uniform set of tyres)

Make sure you are also ready for any parts that may be necessary such as a balljoint or tierod end.
