Got my new Shell Credit Card, no more separate Rewards system, just a Mastercard with 4% off on gas purchases. That works out to .18 cents/gallon off at our current $4.50 average local price. You get it as a credit on your monthly statement not at the pump. This is interesting, the previous Rewards program was based on your purchase of at least 10 gallons to qualify for additional discounts which is kinda difficult as both our cars have 10.6 gallon tanks. We'd have to plan pretty carefully to do that, literally running out of gas pretty close to the Shell Station. I think it's a trend, gas companies turning their gas card systems over to being run by a bank. At least you can tap to pay or use the Shell App which is a bit more secure.

Wow, that's annoying. I have a couple cars that I don't think I've been able to fit ten gallons into, ever.

Agreed...I never run below a half tank...
That was on the old card rewards system, new card is just a flat 4% off total gas purchase, any amount.
Mobil will send out bonus point offers on their system and the catch is that you need to fill with at least 8 gallons. I hate letting the needle get below half a tank so I miss out on some of the perks.
Is the Shell Rewards program itself going away? Or just the extra benefits if you have a Shell CC? I haven't bothered getting one of their cards, but do use their app and pay at pump .
