does anyone have a 2011or12 santafe with the 4 cylinder motor?i was thinking of trading my 09 in but do not think the four cyl would have enough power.my sonata is a four and gets good miliage but does not have the power or pickup off the six cyl i have owned.thats why i dont think i would buy another unless they put a six back in them.

Look up the specs of each of the engines, HP and torque. With new DI and turbo'ed engines coming out "4 cyl vs 6 cyl" isn't really a valid comparison.

+1. Nobody really needs more than 130 HP or so to do most anything, unless lugging big loads. I always laugh about folks that can't merge safely without v6 acceleration...

The 11 and 12 4 cylinder models are not GDI engines. They do not have the power and pick up of the new 2.4's. A 13 would be a better choice for power and economy.
If your 09 is a 2.7 V6, then you won't notice much difference going from the V6 to the I4. If you have a 3.3 V6, there is a noticeable difference.

I don't, when I get stuck behind a load of fatties on a hot day whose pos can't merge worth a bleep.

I'd suggest saving up for a 2013 also. I drove the turbo and found it to be plenty powerful. I can't comment on the base motor.
