Anythoughts on the new 36 MM EX1? 2 tone model?
The Tudor Black Bay 58 925 in silver kinda grabs me....not enough to buy one but I would like to see in one close up.
Tudor is sure keeping the price down vs Rolex...

Everyone is keeping their priced down compared to ROLEX. :D
I haven't seen the new line yet however, there should be some reviews on YouTube...which is more in my price range.

Street prices for the new Tudor chronos have already surpassed $8,000, which is crazy because from what I saw, many Tudor ADs had availability on launch day. Lots of people getting calls from their AD to come check them out and tons of Insta photos.

I'm sure it will settle down. The blue BB58 are pretty much available at any AD now. Prices on those shot up just after launch too.

As for Rolex: Who cares? I guess the new PE II will be on a few people's wish list. Nobody wants a 2-tone Explorer or an iced Lady Datejust; Everybody wants a steel Explorer, which is still impossible to get. When can I get my hands on an OP 124300 with the pretty turquois dial? Still never? Still never.

I just had my Stainless Steel Rolex Submariner Date serviced last year. Rolex recommends that you have your watch routinely services every 5-7 years, which will typically cost you about $500-$700, assuming there is nothing else wrong with your watch. I send my watch directly to Rolex because, in my experience, local jewelers who are "Rolex Certified" are a joke when it comes to properly repairing/servicing your watch.

I bought my Submariner in 1986 for a whopping $1,050 and it now retails for approximately $9,000 ( https://on.rolex.com/3wZH216 ).

Rolex has been trying very, very hard to cut off access to material and special tools to independent watchmakers who don't keep up with their current training, necessary tools, etc.

I had my Datejust(ref. 16013) serviced early 2020 by an excellent independent up in New Jersey. I know him from other watch dealings-he and I are both active in early and high grade Waltham collecting-but he is a fine and well respected watchmaker.

My total bill was still over $500, but I'm incredibly satisfied with the work. I also probably came out was lower than Rolex would have charged. He talked to me about replacing the bracelet due to to stretch, but said that in his opinion mine had 10+ years of wear left in it provided I kept it clean. Rolex would have just changed it without asking, billed me $3K for the new one, and kept the old one(which, even if worn out by their standards, still has a not insignificant amount of 18K gold in it).

BB58 to me is meh. Why have a displayback and not finish the movement? Plus the movement looks to small in the case and the strap also looks small to me. I feel Tudor could have done better here. I think once the craze is over these are going to drop in price unlike their siblings.

Just an f.y.i...Rolex told me that they charge the very same prices as any independent dealers - they say there's no difference in repair pricing. Since my local Rolex dealer screwed up my Dad's Rolex (which I then had to send directly to Rolex for a proper repair), I decided to skip the independent and send my Rolex directly to Rolex for repair!

Like automobiles there's a bit of sticker shock looking at prices after almost a decade. Tudor's going for $4k. WOW
Yeah, I looked up the model, looks pretty basic. A philistine here but I can't really tell the difference between that watch and the discount ones at the department store for $25.

Being as someone brought up subs, I think if I was going to spend that much on a diver I might get this one instead :)
I think Blancpain make some of the best looking divers out there :)

Complete & utter fail with Blancpain + Porsche, let alone a deezul truck.

Everyone knows that one has to post "wrist shots" of a Sub on a 3 series Bimmer steering wheel.

Then, you can be an Instasham "influencer", and get away with using SinoPec.

got my seiko and my porsche. Does anyone feel influenced? LoL Did I do it right? Should this watch even be allowed in this car? I don't know

You make a valid point.

A while back, I posted a picture of my ancient daily driven dinged gouged dented stainless dlive Lolex on that effete watch forum, with one of my 9 series narrow track's Command Centers as a background.

I was promptly admonished, and told that a JD + busted knuckles didn't qualify as a "steering wheel + Rolex" wrist shot.

Must have been the worn frayed cuff of my tin cloth jacket that triggered them...or perhaps it was my snide reference to others' shaved wrists as compared to my cracked frostbitten hide.

Gonna have to look into these essential earls though.

Make me less of an unreconstructed deplorable, hopefully.

I use them essential earls, they smell purdy
