Our wonderful housecleaner's older V6 Camry is pretty beat; it's billowing smoke. There's a guy around here I get cars from; he treats me pretty well.
2008 CR-V LX, 131K, pretty clean. has original plugs. $5,800. One owner. I will service it and turn it over to Josephina.
I hate junk tires! And this is some funky no-name whatever rubber. Sheesh, what's a poor boy to do?

Here she is, interior is perfect.

My wife's has been a great car. I have no doubt that It would go 250k + with no issues. Will see if I get rid of my Mazda and make it my daily after we get her something newer next year. I would sort of like to find a good cause like you did to pass it onto.

That's a pretty good pay rate for your house cleaner. She is lucky and you treat her well. Did I hear whispers of Continental DWS-06+??? :ROFLMAO:

Headlights look a bit faded from what I see. I was checking new ones on RA for about $60 each just as FYI.

My daughter's '08 was a hand me down from my sister. Battery kept dying, they got sick of it not starting. Said if I can fix I can have it, don't bring it back. My brother-in-law and nephew didn't listen when I said change the AC relay, forums had big discussions on it sticking causing clutch to stay engaged with parasitic drain. They said the AC works fine no matter how I explained it. They also put a used junk yard starter in.

New AC relay, new RA starter and some other maintenance stuff as well as fluids. That was just over 5 years and 40k miles ago. It goes in for new windshield tomorrow due to rock. It's 140 miles away from 250k, doesn't burn any oil. It's a great vehicle, she loves it.

I had weird issue with steering rack in hers that wouldn't re-center fully but seemed like a total one off issue from searches I did and my shop. Clogged sunroof drain at the exit behind fender liner. Rusted power steering line (thanks NY) as it rides directly on frame next to passengers wheel.

@JeffKeryk - I don'tknow if California is covered or just the North East rust places. They have recall for putting braces on frame by rear control arms. Water/salt in frame area causing rust out and arms falling off. Some oily fluid film, woolwax, Krown goes a long way back there. Lots of pictures/threads on CRV Owners Club.

I'm same user name there for what I have encountered.

My 2007 has 210k miles it is stone axe reliable. I purchased it brand new. A few common issues did arise but nothing crazy. The a/c compressors/clutch are prone to go out on these. Check the relay first. Starter was getting weak around 175k replaced it myself nbd. Heater hose/pipe from thermostat to heater core developed a pinhole leak around 200k. It runs under the intake manifold but not too bad of a job. But other than normal wear items it’s been great. My buddy’s 2010 has 461k on his 2010 and he just replaced the OEM front struts! The engine was super clean when we replaced the valve cover gasket. Also valve adjustment should be done every 100k or so.

Very nice rig! Easily a 300k mile car and in CA, probably much higher than that. Corrosion was my #1 issue with my 06 CRV.

I never had any issues with the trans, but I serviced it regularly because it was so easy. I suggest a few spill-&-fills and change the little round filter on the cooler circuit if the 08's have it.

Also - I opened my valve cover to specifically adjust the valves around 160k miles, but only found one exhaust valve that was a smidge tight. Around 250k, I did it again and found no valves out of adjustment. My understanding is that too tight is bad, but too loose is just annoying.

Sweet rig. Had a 2012 CRV for a few years it was charming.

Your post gave me the warm and fuzzies, you are a giving person.

Nice. Before I got my RAV4 I was looking at one of these that my dealership had but they wanted way more for it than this and had way more miles. These are great SUVs. I agree I hate cheap tires. Tires is one thing I will always buy name brand.
