Very cute! Our blue is 3 now and our next dog will most likely be another healer in red.

I bring it up due to my wife's company recently opening up another plant in Yuma which she has traveled to several times over the past year. The employees down there have told her about the dogs who have been killed by either snake bites or scorpion stings and how prevelant it is. They said before letting their dogs out into their backyard they walk it first but even that doesn't always work. I was stationed at a base in Barstow Ca years ago and don't recall having those concerns.

Always happy to share. This is Cooper, he's 7&1/2 now and seems to be just past his athletic prime. He still wants to get out and go but his outlook is more mature, conserving energy, not the crazy hyperactive rocket he was for years. Super easy to train, stays close all the time. I don't know how it happened but he knows quite a few hand signals. His coloring is textbook with the roan mottling, mask, red accents and Bentley star on his forehead. That Aussie cattleman sure got it right when he crossed his drover dogs with tame dingos!!
That plant in front of him is Indian Paintbrush, a parasitic plant that gets it's nutrients from the root system of other plants.
