New Project - More Makita!

What did you use on that wall? Turned out great. 👍

It’s much better than the “pallet art” wall the previous owners of our house put up. 😵‍💫

Thanks!! We bought reclaimed wood we cleaned and treated it for pests, but thats pretty much the color it came.

You've got me super curious what a pallet art wall looks like???

If my wife knew I was posting the state of our living room… 🫥

I don’t know we are going to do with it. It’s a stairway to the full sized attic. The little door is for a small closet.

What kind of reclaimed wood? Apparently oak from rail cars is a thing.

I wont tell anyone.

Ok I see broken down pallets reassembled so as to be relatively flat.
Looks pretty nice and Im sure it was affordable minus the prep.

What were the steps on prepping that?

Tough one on the usability.

Never had a shadow line saw. This is next level.

Rather than figuring out if the cut is to the let or right of a laser, and having to adjust a laser between blades this scheme shows you exactly where the cut will be right down to the width of the tooth.

What looks like a pencil mark is the shadow line for the cut.

This whole setup is fantastic.

In retrospect we could have saved a ton of time if I'd have bought another tool - a hand planer.
The 3" wide belt sander and 6" palm sander alsolutely rocked, but I could have cut that time in half or less.

The XGT system is impressive in its ability to deliver continuous work.

The live edge boards are nice. We did a bathroom remodel because of the baby. Complete gut down to the floor joists. Bought the most expensive shower head/ bathtub faucet combo Menards had. ~6 months later, the valve leaks when the shower head is on. The valve is more or less behind her night stand. Boards like this could service as a removable access panel. 🤷‍♂️

On a side note, it appears we have the same garage doors. Bought them at Menards, but they’re made by Ideal Door.

Total bummer on the leak.
I've standardized on High Sierra low flows - they give a great shower at under 2 GPM.
Best Ive tried and I tried about 15 different low flow shower heads.

Never paid any attention to the doors, but now that you mention I'll check them out for a makers mark.
