Changed the spark plugs in my son's 3.8L Mustang tonight. Task accomplished without incident, which is a rarity for me. They don't call me the "Plug Wire Assassin" for nothing.

I assumed it had the originals with 69k on them, turned out they were Bosch +2's so I was happy to get them out although they didn't look too bad except for one.
Bosch +2 and +4's do not have a happy relationship with Ford's ignition system. I installed Autolite Double Platinums.
Didn't bust any plug wires. Didn't break off any spark plugs. I'm pretty happy with myself. I just thought I'd say that.

That's always scary thinking about breaking something...

Good goin' !!!

I broke two plug wires (and skinned a couple knuckles) on my wife's corsica 3.1. Kinda tight in there. You know the drill, the plugs in there had 45k, the car had 200k, I picked up some cheap autolites and wanted to do a "$6 tuneup".

This was my only car then, wife had my olds at work that day.

So I rode my bike 30 miles round trip to get parts, including a nice highway uphill with diesel gravel trucks groaning up and blowing particulates. :)

Got the job done and the car was very peppy so I was happy even though my thighs were screaming bloody murder.

Autolite makes the OEM plugs for ford, they are the same as the motorcraft part.

For other make cars I use a ngk plug, but for fords I stick with motorcraft/autolite.
