New Pennzoil dino, impressive

Some posters picked up Gallon Jugs of Pennzoil conventional, SN, GF-5 on clearance at Kmart's, for $6 or less. Some members also took advantage of the rebates for engine guarantee program. After the $10 rebate....cost was 25 cents a quart, plus tax, stamp and envelope. I've got quite a stash of Pennzoil conventional, Valvoline conventional and GTX from the clearance sales at Kmart....that's just the conventional oils.

I paid about $2.5/L after taxes for Pennzoil Conventional and Valvoline conventional oils, so these are some pretty good savings.

The thing about Toyota's oil is that the price greatly varies from dealer to dealer. All dealers that I called, in GTA area, quoted me roughly $10/L, same thing with Honda dealers.
I would't mind trying try this oil, especially during winter, but only if I could find it closer to the price you quoted.

I ran MC oil and filters in my 5.4 3 valve for about a year and a half. Always had a rattle for about 1-2 seconds on first start of the day. Still using a MC filter but switched to Pennzoil conventional. No more startup noise. Not saying that is the only oil that would have fixed the noise but since it did I am sticking with it. Not everyone who says a certain oil performs better in their vehicle is drinking the kool-aid.

That it is, but drug stores have no idea what an appropriate markup would be on motor oil, compared to a parts store that sells at a reasonable margin for oils, or Walmart which often uses them as loss leaders.

Not only that. If you play your 1702 Conte di Fontana Stradivarius violin with a bow made by Albert Nürnberger and wipe the bow with a swath soaked in Pennzoil Conventional it will give you a gamma much richer than MMO would. Although Rastropovich preferred vodka for his cello bow. Food for thought..

The drug store owner thinking that they sell YK lubricant for mankind, so why not sell lubrincant for carkind as well, like one stop shopping. LOL

The prices of the Toyota and Honda 0W-20s have fluctuated in the past but the current Toyota price is $5.70/L and the Honda price is $7.80/L less for both if you buy a 12L case but primarily for Honda/Acura.
So try your local Toyota/Lexus dealer again. And if you don't get quoted the $5.70/L price, ask why he's charging more than the price that Toyota in Kitchener, Burlington, Oakville and Mississauga are charging?
