The S2000 of roofless VW has a short gearing in the Diff.
However, at cruising Speed of 160 Km/h / 100 MPH it´s around 5.000 RPM.

Its is not build for the Autobahn. It is a proper sportscar in its originally style. Meant for racetrack or fun on twisty, lonesome country roads.

My Toyota does 190kph at 5K rpm, same engine displacement.

My GTI does 250 km/h at 5K, again same displacement. 🤭

5k RPM @ 130kph.

That's like a 1980 Fiesta 1.0. Pretty common back in the day?

And no speed control...

No speed control? Please tell me, where? I wouldn't stretch speed limits in Austria.

Germany! We dont have speed control on lonesome country roads. Nada, Zero, Never had on since 1988. Only in Villages, if ever.
Austria have.. i agree, i dont stretch, speed limits there.
