New pads/ rotors on a Focus

I like napa'a ultra premium rotors with they're adaptive one pads....they work very well and last a long time......but if you have the cash you can't beat EBC redstuff pads with ebc sport rotors
Get ceramic. The dust is lighter and hence the wheels don't look dirty as fast.
I will be changing the pads/rotors on my daughter's '06 Mazda3(similar to the Focus) as soon as weather premits an I have time. I have already purchaced the pads/rotors from RockAuto. Centric Premium Rotors with the E-Coating and Centric Posi-Quiet Ceramic, all F&R. I'm going to do a "better than you could pay for from any mechanic" brake job on this car as I always do with my own brakes. I will lube everything properly with Permatix Gray Silicone Brake Lube and Bleed the system again(blead it when she bought the car)
The dust and noise with the brakes that are on there now is challanging to say the least. The brakes are noisy when first starting out after the car has been sitting all day/night and then quiets down to just some metal-to-metal noise all the time while braking. The current pads all still have meat and the car brakes well without any issues so, I know there is nothing wrong with the brakes. Plus, I have dissembles all 4 corners and inspected them and blead the system in the recent past just to have piece of mind. The front rotors are just starting to pulse and they have been turned once already(along with new pads)from the used car dealer that she bought the car from in Aug'09 w/50K miles.
Rear pads/rotors are OE. Everything is getting replaced except the Calipers unless I strip the bleeders as I did the passenger rear last year trying to bleed. Bought a reman caliper for it. I hate for that to happen again but, whom ever worked on or inspected these brakes in the past, overtightened the bleeder screws and has caused me some issues while bleeding. Plus, the threads seem to strip out easily on these caliper bleeder screws. I think the Focus is the same.

Those are motorcraft, not OEM Ford. OEM Ford pads have a 2001 basic number not 2V001. Also Focus parts have a _S4Z prefix, not a 8U2Z prefix.
Also thats not a great deal considering those pads MSRP for $66.63
If the original ones lasted this long, then get another set.

What pad to use?
OK.. In general, some homework will find you a better pad than stock. For non racers and general use, the stock pads can be very good. I prefer to hunt the aftermarket and compare ratings [EE,FF GG, etc]
Ceramics are certainly cleaner, and this is a big plus.
75K in 3 years is actually easier on the system than 75k in 10 years.
