New Oil Recommendation for 2021 Ford Ranger Ecoboost?

I have been using Motorcraft 5w-30 in my 2021 Ford Ranger 2.3 Ecoboost since I bought it. The truck now has 37K miles, and it is time for an oil change. Motorcraft semi synthetic is almost the price of synthetic oils now. I started changing the oil by the oil life monitor but switched to 5K oil changes.

What major brand of synthetic oil available at Walmart does the BITOG community recommend for the 2.3 Ecoboost (turbo) engine? I have searched and read previous posts without a conclusion. Has one brand risen to the top recently in oil analysis? I don't mind paying for good oil since I do my own oil changes.

Thank you. I really like my Ranger, BTW.

I use the Havoline Lifelong 5W30 in mine. The 6qt box works perfectly. 5000 mile OCI.

Don't forget to throw the 10R80 some love as well around 30,000 miles.

I have an Explorer with the same engine and have used Quaker State and Pennzoil synthetics without issue. I have a case of Mobil Full Synthetic (not Mobil 1) that I'll be using next OCI. Realistically, at 5K intervals I'm not convinced it really matters. Shop for value.

I went with standard Mobil 1 synthetic. I needed 6 quarts and couldn’t find just a quart of the other brands suggested at Walmart, only the 5 quart jugs. I’ll see how Mobil 1 does this oil change and decide on the next. Walmart is hit or miss. Auto parts stores are high.

Any full synthetic 5W-30 will do you well. House brand Supertech or any name brand of your choosing will serve it well

Those Havoline 6 quart boxes are your friend:

$24.97 right now:

Call me OCD, but I went back to Motorcraft before I changed the oil. I returned the Mobil 1. I like to stick with one brand. My local Walmart doesn’t carry the Pennzoil Ultimate that everyone seems to like. I’ll make up my mind next time, LOL.

I have the 2019 3.3 N/A in a F150 I did all the free oil changes . Two years worth. I also now change my own oil . I went to wal mart Pennzoil Platinum . I do 4-5k mile OCI . Turbo I wouldn’t go over 5 K OCI. That’s just me. It is rough on oil. IMO Wardawg

If you spend $35 Walmart.com delivers the Pennzoil Ultra Platinum to your front door. Buy it online.

Also, I have never seen Motorcraft Synthetic at Walmart stores near me. It's always the synthetic blend.
Richer kin to Motorcraft is Kendall and you can get Kendall Syn with free shipping at kendallmotoroils.com

Kendall GT1-Max is what may interest you most there. Titanium may / may not be included.......I dunno.
