I’m considering purchasing a New 25 Multistrada V2. Non S model.

I currently ride a 2024 KTM 790 ADV with about 15k miles on it. It’s been across the country from coast to coast, and several trips in between. It’s been reliable, of course the worry of the Camshaft doom is always there, but the cams looked fair and valves were in spec when checked at 12,700 miles. It does run out of factory warranty this spring, which is something I’ve factored in.

The main consideration is I don’t do any off-road so I’m thinking of switching to a more road focused upright tall rounder.

The new 25 Multistrada V2 has the revised engine without the Desmo Valves, and has been completely redesigned. Dealer is offering a fair deal on a new one.

The bike feels great to sit on and I’m going to schedule a Demo ride once the snow clears.

The other bike I’m considering is a Triumph Tiger 900 GT/GT Pro. Pricing between the two is very similar.

Anyone own a Multi?

I have a Panigale V4 Speciale. It's a great bike, but it's not my only bike, and I don't put many miles on it. Ducatis can be a bit more finicky than your typical Japanese bikes. I know a guy who has owned a string of Multistradas, and makes quite a few Youtube videos. He seems happy with his current V4 Multistrada.

I say if it's what you want, give it a try.

I checked out the new V2 and liked it. The MSRP is $16K, then you need to buy all the accessories, which adds up. I just went with the Tiger 900 GT Pro, which has all the accessories on it for a $1K more, and then you take off the usual Triumph discounts.

I bought a '22 Multistrada V4 Pikes Peak in April 2022.

It now has 10k miles and I've had zero issues with it, with the exception of replacing the tires and battery last year.

If the V2 is like the V4, the annual service light and oil interval can only be reset at the dealer. Also, adding heated grips, heated seat, OEM driving lights, etc., require the S/W to be configured on the bike.

I invested in an OBDSTAR Diagnostic scanner to reset the service intervals and configure the S/W for added accessories on my own:

This reply maybe late but I have a 2026 Multistrada V2. I have owned several Triumphs and one other Ducati.

On the new V2, the oil service light come on every two years. At some point a reset tool will be available but until then you can do your own OC in between.

I almost went with a new tiger 900 GT pro. I like the Ducati for its sportier nature. I also noted the windshield adjuster is much better on the Duc.

You get a notch better brakes on the Tiger but either is more than enough for a street bike. The new motor is fantastic. Wide torque, easy on gas, and plenty of power.

For reference I was coming from a 2022 Ducati Streetfighter V2 modded and have owned many triumph speed triples and a street triple. I am located in middle Georgia and ride year round. I mostly ride back roads that are twisty

Thanks for the reply! I’m actually planning to take a Demo this weekend on a 25 V2 Base.

Hows the valvetrain noise? My 790 has a pretty loud valvetrain that gets annoying.

I do mostly cross country touring and twisties. I typically do a couple trips a year to the mountains in TN and at least one ride out west from Kentucky.

The 790 has been a good bike, but I’m ready to try something else!

That V2 looks so yummy... I'm just waiting for Spring to finally come around so I can start riding again.
